Free up space on a full laptop

Updates fail and everything crawls when the disk is full. Three safe places to reclaim space.

   Settings › System › Storage › Temporary files: tick everything except Downloads if you keep files there, and clean up.

   Empty the Recycle Bin — deleted files still count until you do.

   Open Downloads, sort by size, and move the big installers and videos to a USB drive or delete them.

   If it fills up again within days, something is writing logs or backups to the disk — that is a quick fix on a work order.
